About us

Christchurch Agency for Energy (CAfE) is a local charitable trust that exists to raise awareness of energy, energy use and energy options in Christchurch and promote energy efficiency initiatives and the use of renewable energy.

CAfE aims to support debate by providing accurate information on current energy data on energy usage in Christchurch. CAfE provides information and advice on energy to:

• homeowners
• businesses
• motorists
• commercial and industrial energy users
• students, teachers and researchers

CAfE seeks to raise awareness of and promote the use of renewable energy in Christchurch through:

1. evaluation of sites for production of renewable energy
2. encouraging the use of biofuels
3. encouraging the use of solar heating
